Driving Forward Internship Program

Driving Forward provides a career accelerator internship program for first-generation and under-served undergraduate college students. The program is a ten-week virtual internship running from January to March, 2027. Now in our eighth year, we create teams of five college students to spend 10 weeks working in developing recommendations for a business case developed in partnership with the project coaches, industry experts, and Driving Forward corporate sponsors.

Your team will include an experienced business coach guiding you through your project work. Each student is assigned a mentor for recurring meetings on career development and support. Students complete weekly training assignments on professional skills relevant to the project through the Udemy platform. Students attend weekly sessions with keynote speakers, experienced professionals with perspective on career paths and skill development.

The final deliverable is a comprehensive presentation and client focused recommendations delivered to a panel of business leaders. The teams are instructed to perform as consultants, taking advantage of their areas of expertise and learning to arrive at a practical solution that is actionable for their client. Students that complete the project, training, and panel sessions receive a $1,000 stipend.

Requirements:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required
  • Ability to commit 8–10 hours per week, including program participation, team meetings, and mentorship sessions
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Benefits:

Benefits to the intern include improved and enhanced business and professional skills to foster a successful transition from college to a career. Students gain real-world business case study creation practice, including research, analysis, innovation, risk management, and presentation skills. Each intern has access to robust educational resources. Driving Forward prioritizes team-building opportunities and gives the interns flexibility to ensure their schoolwork is still a priority.
