Kennedy-King College is seeking a passionate and dedicated

Part-Time Lecturer to join our Basic Nursing Assistant (BNA)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Provides instruction through classroom theory/lecture,laboratory demonstration and skills practices, and supervised clinical sessions at a designated health care facility such as anursing home or long-term care facility.
  • Provides students with course syllabus including course outline, grading standards, attendance policies, and classroom behavioral expectations.
  • Prepares lessons to teach and facilitate student learning todevelop basic nursing and cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills using appropriate methods of instruction.
  • Maintains student attendance and grading records in compliance with CCC policy and guidelines.
  • Constructs exams and assignments to evaluate student learning.

    Evaluates student progress and provides students with timely feedback.
  • Responsible for student evaluation and timely and accurate submission of grades and paperwork related to instruction
  • Maintains a purposeful, orderly, safe, and healthy classroom environment.
  • Consults with program coordinator to resolve issues
  • Performs related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate Degree and the completion of the BNA Instructor Train-the-Trainer course required.
  • Bachelor in Nursing or higher, completion of BNA Instructor Train-the-Trainer course preferred .
  • Must have valid Registered Professional Nursing Illinois license.
  • Two years of experience as a registered nurse (RN).
  • Must have experience as a RN in at least one of the following areas:
    1. teaching theory in an accredited nurse training program;or 2. providing nursing care, including personal care and activities of daily living, to older adults or chronically illadults.
  • IDPH approved Illinois Evaluator Certification and ability to complete a Department-sponsored Approved Evaluator Workshop refresher course every five years
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS healthcare provider CPR certification preferred.
  • Experience with technologies used for Instruction such as Blackboard or D2L.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse group of staff and students, required
  • Experience with a diverse, multi-lingual student population isdesired, as is a commitment to the open access mission of the community college

Rate of pay for this position is $40/hour.
