The budgeted annual salary range for this position is $110,000 to $250,000. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. Potential for clinic practice opportunities with affiliated hospitals.

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford is seeking an innovative and collaborative educator for a full-time Pathology faculty position. This role will develop and deliver pathology instruction within an integrated medical curriculum, with an emphasis on the basic principles needed for clinical practice. Responsibilities include lectures and other learning activities, curriculum development and integration, student assessment, and course administration.

The faculty member will collaborate with colleagues across the Rockford, Chicago, and Peoria campuses on course schedules, instructional materials, assessments, and inter‑campus educational initiatives while contributing to the continued renewal of the College of Medicine curriculum. The Rockford campus has a robust research program, and participation in educational scholarship/research is encouraged.

• Develop pathology teaching material for an integrated medical curriculum, focusing on basic principles needed for clinical medicine.
• Participate in teaching through lectures and other learning activities.
• Collaborate with faculty across the Rockford, Chicago and Peoria campuses on course schedules, instructional materials, assessments, and other educational initiatives.
• Coordinate pathology content with other disciplines and courses across the curriculum.
• Develop appropriate assessments for and of student learning.
• Participate in curriculum development.
• Direct integrated courses at the Rockford campus and participate in cross‑campus course administration.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

• Terminal degree with expertise in pathology.
• Experience teaching pathology at the collegiate, graduate, or medical school level. Experience teaching pathology at the medical school level is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
