QEHS Specialist – Chicago, Atlanta & San Antonio

Overview

A growing manufacturing and operations company is seeking a QEHS Specialist to support the implementation and daily management of the Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety (QEHS) system across their Chicago, Atlanta, and San Antonio facilities. This hands-on role ensures regulatory compliance, promotes a safe workplace, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct new hire orientation and safety/QEHS training and facilitate ongoing awareness programs.

  • Lead and support plant associates and management in continuous improvement and safe work practices.

  • Investigate accidents, perform facility inspections, and implement corrective actions.

  • Maintain QEHS records in SharePoint and ERP systems and ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.

  • Organize and maintain occupational exposure, industrial hygiene, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) programs.

  • Conduct environmental testing, stormwater sampling, and permit applications/renewals.

  • Support internal and certification audits, including reporting findings and corrective/preventive actions.

  • Facilitate change management activities and chair safety committee meetings.

Who You Are
  • Minimum 1 year of EHS experience or relevant Bachelor’s degree; 2+ years preferred.

  • Knowledge of ISO
    14001, ISO
    45001, ISO
    9001, or R2/RIOS standards; OSHA compliance experience; OSHA 30-hour certification a plus.

  • Strong computer skills, including ERP systems, Excel, and SharePoint.

  • Excellent organizational, project management, and data analysis skills.

  • Ability to translate data into actionable reports and effectively communicate findings.

  • Calm, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality.

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts; bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
