Position: Solar Technician Base - Mexico

Job Description

The Solar O&M Technician is the on-site project representative responsible for performing the activities described in the checklists to verify the condition of the plant's equipment, completing the necessary forms for record-keeping, and reporting to the maintenance supervisor. This position requires highly flexible individuals with availability to work rotating shifts, a positive attitude towards teamwork, a high degree of responsibility, and discipline to follow work instructions.

In addition, the technician must have technical knowledge of electricity, electronics, air conditioning, and photovoltaic systems, and be able to perform physical labor without any impediment.

Desired Knowledge
  • Low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems
  • Manual regulatorio de coordinación operativa (CENACE)
  • Photovoltaic (PV) systems
  • Lithium battery energy storage systems (BESS)
  • Substation protection systems
  • Single-line diagram interpretation
  • Industrial communications (Modbus, TCP/IP, Ethernet, switches, routers, etc.)
  • Predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance
  • Safe use of hand tools
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Fire protection and suppression systems
  • HVACs and minisplit maintenance
Primary Responsibilities
  • Monitor plant operations in real time
  • Maintain communication with CENACE
  • Operate a photovoltaic power plant (>30 MW) and battery energy storage system (>100 MWh)
  • Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance
  • Supervise contractors
  • Manage inventory
  • Prepare operational and maintenance reports
  • Manage work orders and reports in the EAM system
Required Qualifications
  • Availability to work rotating shifts
  • Valid passport (Desirable)
  • Valid U.S. visa (Desirable)
  • Effective communication skills in English (Desirable)
  • Driver license(Desirable)
