the Role

Engineer VII – Senior Project Manager – Sail to an outstanding team of engineering professionals. We need a senior civil project manager with well‑rounded experience, knowledge, and understanding of civil engineering design to work independently and lead civil design tasks and civil projects. We have a strong track record in winning public, private, and railway projects that require civil engineering support and civil projects requiring design and review of civil/utilities/drainage plans across the United States.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead a major project team or several moderate sized project teams for the organization.
  • Oversee and analyze the financial performance of client accounts and engineering projects.
  • Actively engage in project reviews to ensure quality and alignment with goals.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to manage budget, schedule, resources, client needs, and perform design work as necessary to meet project needs.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Client relations.
  • Experience in proposal writing.
  • Experience in business development and marketing of business services.
  • Proficient with electronic communications including e‑mail and text as well as standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Skills in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues.
Required

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
  • 15 years (minimum) of general civil engineering design experience, including roadway, drainage, earthwork, H&H, construction plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Experience working with multiple disciplines within a project scope.
  • Experience in field engineering and/or design support during construction.
  • Proficiency in technical writing, specifically specifications in multiple formats.
  • High level proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency in site grading, utility and drainage design.
  • Proficiency in street improvement design and public works design.
  • Experience in site development.
  • Experience developing and leading design teams and mentoring junior engineers.
Preferred

Education and Experience
  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 20+ years of prior experience.
  • 5+ years prior experience in project management.
  • Proficient in Hydrology/Hydraulic design and calculations.
  • Experience with transit related projects including facilities.
  • Experience in track design.
  • Experience in traffic design.
  • Experience in both public and private sectors.
  • Experience in using Micro Station.
  • SUSMPs, WQMPs, and SWPPPs experience.
  • QSD/QSP registration.
  • Experience in Facility Design.
  • Experience in Right of Entry permit processing.
  • Engaged in lifelong learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.
  • Business development skills.
  • In‑depth knowledge of industry standards and guidelines.
  • Established relationships with railroad clients.
Preferred Additional Qualifications, Certifications, Etc.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), equivalent, or authorization of CLPO.
