We are looking for a full-time Water Resources Project Engineer to join the team. The selected candidate can work out of any of the following locations:
Chicago, IL, Peoria, IL, Crown Point, IN.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of floodplains and floodways, including bridge and culvert cross sections.
  • Analysis of flood problem areas to identify problems, develop alternative solutions, and design recommended alternatives.
  • Stormwater system analysis and design for municipal and roadway projects, including conveyance, storage, and stormwater quality best management practices.
  • Design of soil erosion and sediment control practices.
  • The candidate will serve as the technical lead on projects, reporting to the Project Manager, and will manage other engineers and technicians to complete project plans, but may also complete certain tasks independently.
  • Design tasks include calculations/models, report and plan preparation, quantity calculations, construction details, specifications, cost estimates, and other related tasks; work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Review and check engineering work completed by others.
  • Maintain positive client and vendor relations.
  • Mentor staff engineers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 8-12 years of water resources experience.
  • Illinois and/or Indiana Professional Engineer licensure is a plus.
  • Strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic models, including HEC-RAS and SWMM.
  • Experience on municipal and/or highway drainage design projects (a plus).
