The process Engineer - Savory Flavor Development will support the design, optimization, and scale-up of processes used in the creation and production of savory flavors and taste modulators. This role focuses on improving process efficiency, increasing yield, and ensuring consistent product quality. The position will collaborate closely with Flavorists, R&D, Manufacturing, and Customer teams to deliver innovate process solutions that meet technical, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Job Responsibilities- Conducts trials, pilot runs, and scale-up activities to ensure successful transition from lab to production.
- Identifies opportuniites to increase yield, reduce cost, and improve process robustness while maintaining flavor quality and integrity.
- Works with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations) to troubleshoot process challenges and implement corrective actions.
- Partners with commercial and technical service teams to provide customer-oriented process solutions, including tailoring flavors to application needs.
- Develops process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical reports.
- Ensures compliance with food safety, GMP and global regulatory standards throughout development and manufacturing processes.
- Stays updated on emerging technologies and process innovations relevant to savory flavor chemistry and production.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- At least 5 years of experience in process engineering within the food, flavor, or biotechnology industries.
- Strong knowledge of flavor manufacturing technologies (reaction flavors, spray drying, encapsulation, thermal processes, etc.).
- Experience with pepides and hydro carbohydrates
- Experience in process optimization, yield improvement, and scale-up from pilot to commercial production.
- Familiarity with food safety systems, GMP, and regulatory requirements. Strong process engineering expertise, with ability to analyze, design, and optimize complex manufacturing systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with ability to troubleshoot technical and process- related challenges.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with proven ability to manage multiple initiatives.
- Effective communication and customer-facing skills, with ability to translate technical concepts into customer solutions.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, operations, and commercial functions.
- Proficiency in process simulation software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
- APAC experience could be an advantage
