Role Overview:

Our client is seeking a Senior Engineer for a 4 to 6-month parental leave coverage contract to join their Engineering Studio. In this role, you will drive technical excellence on high-profile packaging projects, collaborating closely with internal teams, external suppliers, and client partners to deliver on design intent, technical feasibility, and sustainability goals.

YOU WILL:

Technical Expertise

• Lead collaboration across client, design, and manufacturing teams to ensure packaging solutions meet functional, aesthetic, and sustainability criteria.
• Provide technical guidance on materials, processes, and sustainability initiatives.
• Analyze packaging portfolios to identify sustainable improvement opportunities.
• Keep current on packaging innovations, regulations, and trends.

Client Partnership & Communication

• Clearly communicate complex engineering concepts and recommendations to clients.
• Navigate sensitive discussions to align stakeholders and foster strong partnerships.
• Share best practices and innovations with the engineering team and agency partners.
• Collaborate globally to showcase engineering capabilities and support client accounts.
• Manage multiple projects to deliver quality outcomes within timelines and budgets.

Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years packaging engineering experience, ideally in FMCG or agency environments.
• Strong background in sustainable packaging strategies and execution.
• Experience with manufacturing methods including injection molding, thermoforming, blow molding, flexible and rigid packaging.
• Familiarity with recyclability standards and labeling systems such as How2
  
  Recycle.
• Skilled in packaging specification databases and proficient with Excel.
