Field Test Engineer

Overview

This is a FUN AND EXCITING hands-on, field-based test role focused on pushing radar and sensing products to success—or failure—in real operating conditions. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys getting out of the lab and into the field, testing GPS- and radar-based systems in urban environments, open terrain, hills, and flat land. This role is well-suited for an up-and-coming field engineer or an experienced technician who wants to grow into a leadership role.

No formal degree is required, but prior real-world testing experience with GPS, radar, RF, or similar sensing products is mandatory.

• Execute real-world field testing of radar and sensing equipment across varied terrain and environments (urban, rural, hills, flat land).
• Test systems to failure to understand performance limits and edge cases.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize field test data, highlighting performance gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with R&D and engineering teams to improve system performance.
• Document test procedures, findings, and results clearly and accurately.
• Support root-cause analysis of failures and returned equipment.
• Help translate field conditions into lab-based testing scenarios.
• Act as a foundational member of a growing field test organization, with opportunity to step into a team lead role.

• Prior experience testing GPS-based, radar, RF, or sensing products in real-world environments.
• Hands-on field testing experience (not purely lab-based).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset.
• Willingness to push hardware and systems to their limits.
• Comfortable working independently in the field.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

• Experience with drones, aircraft-based testing, or mobile test platforms.
• Basic RF or radio systems knowledge.
• Familiarity with hardware debugging tools and test equipment.
• Exposure to lab-based testing that supports field validation.
