Job OverviewSenior Deputy Design Manager – hybrid role requiring 2‑3 days on site. The selected individual will direct and support a team of Project Managers managing CMARs and AEs throughout the design, pre‑construction, construction procurement, construction, and closeout of renovation and restacking projects.
Job Description- Provides support and reports to the assigned Project Manager(s) or Project Director. Frequency of interaction with the Owner/Client, consultants, design professionals and contractors.
- Directly assists in managing, coordinating and administering civil scopes through all phases of design and construction.
- Ensures all aspects of client services are delivered at the highest level.
- Aids in preparing documents (reports, schedules, invoices, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes/agendas, daily reports, change orders, inspections, closeout and client presentations) and maintains information in project management software.
- Coordinates scheduling of meetings with the project team as directed by the Project Manager(s).
- Communicates conceptual civil designs and maintains project documentation before, during, and after construction.
- Maintains Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for civil elements.
- Reviews and informs design RFPs.
- Manages external design consultants through the design and construction process.
- Communicates design standards to internal and external project partners.
- Manages multiple fast‑paced projects simultaneously.
- Think outside the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during construction to reduce costs without impacting quality or reliability.
- Oversees commissioning of electrical scopes and coordinates with the project management team for project completion.
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, where applicable.
- College degree in civil engineering or construction management preferred.
- Experience and working in project management on large‑scale construction programs.
- Construction consultancy experience strongly desirable.
- Experienced in civil design.
- Prior commissioning experience.
- Manufacturing or mission‑critical experience strongly desirable.
- Solid proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to be highly effective in a client‑facing role.
- Team player; ability to work collaboratively.
- Excellent problem‑solving, critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Proven track record in delivering high‑quality programs.
- Detail‑oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced and changing environment.
- Licensed architect or architectural education preferred.
Salary range: $140K–$160K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, not the total compensation package. Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
