Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer – Power Plant Design (Consulting Engineering)

We’re seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in combined cycle power plant design to join our growing consulting engineering team. If you enjoy solving complex mechanical systems challenges and want to make a meaningful impact on modern power generation, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

In this senior technical role, you will:

  • Lead mechanical engineering design for combined cycle and simple cycle power generation facilities
    , including plant expansions, upgrades, and new builds.
  • Develop and review key deliverables such as:
  • P&IDs
  • Equipment specifications (HRSG, gas/steam turbines, pumps, heat exchangers, fuel systems, water treatment, cooling systems)
  • Piping layouts and stress analyses
  • Mechanical calculations and system evaluations
  • Oversee integration of mechanical systems with electrical, civil, structural, and I&C disciplines.
  • Support equipment selection, vendor evaluations, and technical bid reviews.
  • Provide field engineering support during construction, commissioning, and startup.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support client communication throughout project phases.
What We’re Looking For
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (M.S. preferred but not required).
  • 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience in power generation
    , with emphasis on combined cycle or thermal power plants.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Rotating equipment
  • HRSG and boiler systems
  • Fuel gas and water/steam systems
  • Balance–of–plant mechanical systems
  • ASME, API, NFPA, and relevant power industry standards
  • Experience in a consulting engineering or EPC environment highly preferred.
  • Ability to lead packages, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and interact effectively with clients.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
