Field Service Engineer – Warehouse Automation
LOCATION:
Remote with Travel (75%)
The Field Service Engineer will bring deep expertise in warehouse automation and robotics systems to support global implementations and customer deployments. This role blends hands‑on technical execution with solution design, systems engineering, and customer‑facing support. The ideal candidate thrives in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments and brings an agile mindset, strong troubleshooting skills, and a passion for delivering world‑class automation solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Serve as a technical expert, working independently or mentoring other engineers on complex automation implementations
- Configure firmware and support hardware including robots, conveyors, servers, scanners, and related automation equipment
- Support proof‑of‑concept testing and technical validation efforts in collaboration with sales and pre‑sales teams
- Design and develop software tools, scripts, and test frameworks to validate hardware and system performance
- Provide on‑site and post‑deployment support to ensure automation platforms operate reliably and meet customer requirements
- Test fully integrated warehouse management systems alongside customer and vendor sub‑systems
- Implement large‑scale warehouse automation projects, including AGV, ACR, AMR, and conveyor systems
- Define and execute testing, acceptance criteria, and system integration validation
- Conduct site inspections, grid line marking, and floor DM code placement
- Perform automation system integration and end‑to‑end testing
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to automation equipment and software
- Assist with software testing and validation during project implementation
- 1–2+ years of hands‑on field experience in warehouse automation, material handling equipment, or warehouse operations
- Experience implementing AGV, ACR, or AMR automation solutions is preferred
- Knowledge of WMS integration and PLC‑controlled systems
- Experience with Linux/UNIX environments, SQL, and scripting for task automation
- Basic understanding of networking concepts including VPNs, firewalls, and routers
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Robotics, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%)
