Your Role as a Field EngineerThe Field Engineer is the eyes and ears of our design team. You’ll perform field walkdowns to collect accurate and detailed information about project sites. These may include measurements, photos, and condition assessments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, problem‑solving, and contributing directly to high‑quality engineering deliverables. Depending on level of experience, the Field Engineer may also assist the Engineering department with the creation of Design Packages.

Note:
Field Engineer will work remotely most of the time, but may be required to report to an office on an as needed basis.
- Conduct field walkdowns to document existing site conditions through measurements, sketches, and photographs.
- Identify field constraints, access issues, and potential design impacts during site visits.
- Generate clear, organized documentation to support design coordination and material take‑offs.
- Ensure all field data collection and locate/mark activities align with company standards, safety procedures, and client requirements.
- Collaborate with the design team to clarify findings and resolve field‑data questions.
- Assist in verifying as‑built conditions and supporting quality checks as needed.
- Comfortable working in a team environment and communicating closely with Designers, Project Managers, and other roles as needed.
- Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Safety‑focused and able to work independently in varied field conditions.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
- Ability to utilize field equipment to collect data.
- Comfort managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing needs
- 1 to 3 years of experience in field engineering, site surveying, or utility design.
- Undergraduate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Relevant professional experience in utilities, power, engineering, construction, or related fields.
- Previous experience with Engineering Collection equipment/software (ikeGPS, Katapult, etc.), GIS software, and/or pole loading software
