Job Details

Data Center Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) – Full‑Time – (Remote/Travel).

This role assists in managing small to large Data Center projects, ensuring technical excellence, budget, and schedule. The Engineer performs construction observations, reviews contract documents, develops functional test plans, and executes tests for mechanical and controls systems. Responsibilities also include retro‑commissioning engineering and energy studies, and contributing to design and energy projects for national industrial, institutional, and commercial clients. The ideal candidate is self‑motivated and well‑versed in Data Center projects involving large building MEP system design, commissioning, retro‑commissioning, energy modeling & analysis, and construction for complex buildings.

Assessment, optimization, or commissioning of utility plants will also be expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction observations and test executions.
• Review contract documents and develop functional test plans.
• Conduct retro‑commissioning engineering & energy studies.
• Contribute to design and energy projects for institutional, commercial, and industrial clients.
• Assess, optimize, and commission utility plant systems.

Requirements
  • 2+ years of specific Data Center Commissioning experience (Electrical/Mechanical).
  • Ready to travel up to 75% for project work, training, and inter‑office business (expenses covered).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
  • Experience diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems.
  • Experience managing design/energy services commissioning project resources to predetermined scope, fee, and schedule.
  • Knowledge of building codes, construction industry standards such as ASHRAE and LEED.
  • Effective leadership, written, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred, Not Required
  • EIT, PE, CBCP, CEM, CCP, CxA (a plus).
