Structural Engineer - Mid-Level - PE

We are seeking a Structural Engineer - Mid-Level - PE to join our growing team in Chicago, IL;
Atlanta, GA; or Washington D.C. (Chantilly, VA). Ideal candidates are independent thinkers, self-motivated, communicate proactively, manage tasks with minimal oversight, and enjoy collaborating with other disciplines throughout the design process.

* Professional development support (SE licensure, conferences, training). Principle Areas of Responsibility:
* Develop plans and details for foundations, buildings, and structures based on preliminary concepts, sketches, calculations, or verbal instructions.
* Prepare and coordinate structural designs and drawings in accordance with project specifications, standards, and established design practices.
* Oversee the creation and manage structural models and project drawings prepared by junior engineers and BIM staff using Revit and AutoCAD.
* Apply knowledge of structural steel, cold-formed steel, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, and related drafting conventions.
* Prepare schedules, detail drawings, and incorporate equipment specifications into design documents.
* Understand the scope of SD, DD, and CD phases and produce drawings appropriate to each stage.
* Manage RFIs, submittals during Construction phase and participate in contractor-client conflict resolution.
* Prepare specifications for domestic and international projects.
* Review cost estimates for quantity and have general understanding of related costs.
* Research domestic and international materials, products, and systems to support design decisions and specifications.
* Conduct safe and accurate site surveys and develop existing-conditions documentation.
* Perform structural observations on active job sites and prepare field reports.
* Support in-house Marketing Team with technical input for proposals and project pursuits.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis) from an ABET accredited university.
* 8-12 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
* Professional Engineer (PE) license required;
Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
* Ability to maintain continuing education and license records in multiple states.
* Demonstrated experience in both vertical and horizontal building design.
* Proficiency in designing structural systems including steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, trusses, and foundations.
* Strong skills in structural analysis and finite element modeling; ability to learn specialized software as needed.
* Proficiency with AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit.
* Experience with federal design projects and Whole Building Design Guide is a plus.
* Understanding of anti-terrorism, force protection, hardening, and blast design is highly sought.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
* Willingness to travel for domestic and international assignments.
* Experience supporting facilities for Federal Government clients sector is highly desirable. Salary Base:
This full-time position as a Structural Engineer, level III has an annual base range of $94,500-$113,200. This position is eligible for overtime in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements. The actual hourly rate is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
