Industrial Engineering Intern

The Industrial Engineer Intern will take a variety of assignments and support operational excellence projects to improve internal processes. He/she will use available digital tools to innovate ideas and solutions that will be utilized across the entire Smart Factory.

Internship will be on-site from May 2026 - December 2026.

Intern will work 40hours a week for the May-August duration and at least 25+ hours from September
-December.

* Support streamlining the overall Smart Factory operational excellence process.

* Take various Smart Factory project responsibilities and prepare project timeline, schedule, coordinate with individual departments, and monitor projects.

* Work closely with project teams, organize coordination meetings with stakeholders to provide regular updates.

* Help identifying areas for improvement and provide creative scalable solution options for the current processes.

* Support creating TRUMPF Chicago process standards, guidelines, work instructions, training packages, templates.

* Support operational excellence activities, workshops for continuous improvements of daily tasks.

* Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with people in a multidisciplinary environment.

Experience

Proficient using digital tools
-Office 365, Smartsheet & Power BI. Strong problem-solving skills and data analysis experience.

Pay Range

$18-$25 an hour.

Education

Associate degree in industrial engineering, Business Informatics, Digital Business Management, or similar fields. Project Management and programming experience are preferred.
