PositionStructural EIT/Coordinator – Building Engineering Services Business Group, located in downtown Chicago, IL.
Job PurposeSupport our rapidly growing structural needs by producing design drawings, calculations, and specifications for structural systems in building projects. Responsible for assisting more senior engineers and gaining experience to become a qualified EIT.
Responsibilities- Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications.
- Perform routine engineering assignments using standard techniques and procedures.
- Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects.
- Provide direction to clerical and technical staff as needed.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Students or hires who currently do not hold an EIT will be given the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain the EIT to progress their career.
- Proficiency in Revit.
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or consulting firm.
- At least 2 years of experience designing structural systems for building projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
- A commitment to participating in an employee-owned culture.
