Engineer, Mechanical Engineer

Position Overview

F.tech R&D North America Inc. seeks an Engineer, Design – Design vehicle chassis parts and create CAD data (2D and 3D) that satisfies customer and company requirements.

• Solve design problems using knowledge in Mechanical Engineering and manufacturing
• Make decisions for product design based on sound technical theory that positively affect the direction of a project and the department
• Design products using an understanding of the processes and requirements of the prototype making process
• Organize and lead productive meetings with associates within and outside the company
• Develop consensus among team members during problem–solving activities
• Function as a liaison between customer and different company groups for development project administration
• Communicate with suppliers on requirements and expectations for quality
• Create and present documents for internal and external communication
• Create and maintain a schedule to meet project milestones
• Design parts for manufacturability using an understanding of the processes, equipment, and requirements of plant side for manufacture of awarded business
• Support product launch after design freeze through regular production to help ensure successful close of project
• Plan work priorities and effectively schedule work which achieves project milestones
• Collaborate with Sales team in the development process to obtain costing information
• Support an ISO
  9001 initiative by participating in preventive actions, conducting corrective actions, and reporting as required
• Collect information to assist in determining and meeting customer requirements, along with the assessment of product performance, manufacturability, and cost

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, or a related field
• Requires 6 months of experience in the job offered or in design engineering
• Requires experience with creating 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs and GD&T
