Epitec is seeking to hire a Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineer - EVDD to support the largest U.S. Automaker's Product Development Team at the Chicago Assembly Plant. This is a hybrid role (4 days onsite / 1 day remote) supporting the Explorer and Aviator vehicle lines.
This role serves as the first line of defense for vehicle quality, owning the complete vehicle electrical system, including low-voltage electrical distribution systems (EDS) and module software. The PVT Engineer partners closely with plant operations, engineering skill teams, and suppliers to rapidly identify, contain, and permanently resolve quality and design issues impacting customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead root cause analysis of design, supplier, and manufacturing quality issues
- Support daily warranty claim binning, triage, and containment prioritization
- Lead engineering change management from concept through production launch
- Coordinate plant trials, change signoff, and manufacturing readiness
- Review and triage end-of-line electrical issues and DTCs
- Leverage quality systems and vehicle data to identify customer issues
- Lead resolution of low-voltage wiring and EDS issues
- Participate in vehicle builds and manage issues using AIMS / JIRA
- Attend VRT subsystem meetings
- Develop business cases and roadmaps to eliminate high-impact issues
Minimum 2 years of relevant engineering experience required
- 2+ years experience in:
- Systems engineering
- Root cause analysis
- Quality or issue resolution
- Low-voltage wiring or electrical systems
- Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt across functional areas
- Bachelor's Degree (Engineering or related field)
- Automotive or manufacturing plant experience
- Functional knowledge of vehicle electrical or wiring systems
- Experience supporting engineering changes or launches
- Master's Degree
- Hybrid schedule: 4 days onsite / 1 day remote
- Hands-on, plant focused role with strong visibility
