Responsibilities

Certification Engineer will drive key processes to obtain and retain Civil Aviation Authority (FAA,EASA,ANAC,JCAB,AFAC etc) certification approvals for the integration of SES’ In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) products into aircraft around the world

  • Develop the following:
    Certification Plans, Compliance Checklist and Summary Compliance Report, Weight Change Report / Loading Manual, Airworthiness Limitations, MDL, Wire Routing Assessment, System Safety Assessment, Electrical Load Analysis, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Conformity Plan, RFC's, AMOC’s, TIA, Issue Papers, EWIS Assessment, Technical Publication Manuals
  • Provide overall Project Management of regulatory compliance requirements for an STC
  • Work independently to assess, negotiate and communicate STC compliance requirements across the supporting internal groups and functions
  • Make and communicate key decisions internally and externally to assure appropriate actions are taken to support STC deliverables
  • Resolve problems with a keen outlook to ensure road bumps are kept to a minimum
  • Be a keen team player, strong communicator, highly organised and proactive- be responsible
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical aviation discipline or equivalent related FAA STC work experience.
  • FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) a plus
  • 2+ years’ experience with FAA regulations procedures and the STC process
  • Advanced knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and equivalent foreign regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with individuals at all internal levels of the organization and externally with clients.
  • Ability to work effectively and productively with team members and cross functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to forecast, anticipate problems and proactively address issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications and other project and engineering related software programs.
