A growing building automation and smart building technology provider is seeking a Building Automation Systems Specialist to join their team in the Chicago area. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior to mid-level Specialist looking to develop their career within BAS, working on installation, commissioning, and service of modern building automation systems across commercial environments.

• Install, start-up, and commission Building Automation Systems (BAS) and controllers
• Perform point-to-point checkout and system verification prior to project completion
• Carry out upgrades and modifications to existing BAS systems
• Support preventative maintenance and service, including emergency callouts
• Assist with software and hardware calibration to ensure optimal system performance
• Work closely with Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification
• Maintain commissioning documentation and as-built drawings
• Configure workstations, user interfaces, and IP-based network devices
• Provide basic operator training on system functionality

• High School Diploma with relevant industry experience in BAS, HVAC, or controls
• Basic understanding of:
  • Low-voltage electrical systems
  • Mechanical/HVAC systems
  • IP networking
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Comfortable working in a construction or site-based environment
• Ability to multi-task and work independently

• 2-4 year technical degree or relevant experience in HVAC, DDC, or controls systems
• Experience with platforms such as:
  • Alerton
  • Distech
  • Tridium Niagara
  • Familiarity with BACnet and system integrations

• $70,000 to $120,000 depending on experience
