The position's responsibilities primarily focus on the design of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for new facilities, additions, and renovation projects. This position will require a self-starter who can independently provide technical leadership and create construction drawings, specifications, and existing system studies. Qualified candidates will meet with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors, and others to address mechanical and plumbing engineering issues and develop effective working relationships.
Qualified applicants must be able to work on multiple projects while balancing efforts to deliver documents effectively under fast-paced deadlines and within budgetary constraints.

Skills & Qualifications
- A BS in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university is mandatory.
- Five (5) + years of experience.
- A Professional Engineer License preferred
- Have a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts to execute all required aspects of mechanical engineering
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations with industry software and select and schedule equipment
- Must possess strong leadership and communication skills
- Responsible for the production of construction documents from initial design to bidding
- Provide construction support, including bid evaluation, submittal reviews, responding to RFI’s, final walkthroughs, punch lists, and developing As-Built record drawings
- Responsible for drawing setup and design documentation
- Perform coordination with other disciplines on all projects
- Provide an Energy Code Compliant Design
- Thorough Understanding of Current Codes and Standards:
Chicago, NEC, NFPA, IBC, IECC, ANSI 90.1 - Perform projects within established project budgets and schedules
- Manage workload and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours
- Strong AutoCAD experience
- Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
Trane Trace experience is a plus
