The Permitting Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient acquisition of all necessary permits and approvals required for our solar projects.
Job Objectives- Manage the end-to-end permitting process for solar projects, from initial application to final approval.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external consultants, and regulatory authorities to obtain all required permits, licenses, and approvals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local, state, and federal agencies to expedite permitting timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, zoning laws, building codes, and other applicable requirements.
- Review project plans and documents to identify permitting requirements and potential issues.
- Track and manage permitting schedules, budgets, and milestones to meet project deadlines.
- Prepare and submit permit applications, including all necessary documentation and technical reports.
- Provide regular updates to project teams and management on permitting status, risks, and issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, legal, and development teams to resolve permitting-related challenges.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and permitting requirements that may impact project timelines or costs.
- A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field is preferred; however, relevant experience and skills will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in permitting, regulatory compliance, or environmental planning within the renewable energy industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing permitting processes for large-scale solar or renewable energy projects.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to environmental permitting and land use.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Experience with GIS software and environmental impact assessments is a plus.

The expected annual compensation range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000, encompassing base pay and potential incentive target opportunity. This range is a good faith estimate based on the position's requirements. Specific compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary depending on factors such as relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
