Resident Engineer – Illinois Construction Management / Construction Engineering and Inspection (CM/CEI) group, based in Chicago, Illinois.
Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership and oversight for construction activities, mentoring staff and ensuring successful project delivery through proactive client engagement and disciplined management of budget, schedule, safety, and quality requirements.
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary consultant team delivering roadway and bridge construction projects in close coordination with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and contractors.
- Contribute to management decision‑making, business development efforts, and strategic growth initiatives supporting AECOM’s CM/CEI practice in Illinois.
- Oversee field activities, maintain client relationships, and adhere to budget and schedule requirements while ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS with 6 + years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Valid Driver License.
- BA/BS in Civil Engineering or a construction‑related field with 8 + years of relevant experience.
- Highway and Interstate Construction Experience.
- IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities.
- 7 + Years DOT Construction Experience.
- Professional Engineer License.
USD 100 000 – USD 160 000 yearly, based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
