This position is for a seasoned professional Project Manager in Commercial Mechanical Installation, who works independently, interacting with customers, supports the development of project plans, schedules and budgets for projects, oversees subcontractors, facilitates project tasks with various functional organizations, forecasts project revenues, tracks progress and costs, identifies project problems, and recommends resolutions.
Key Responsibilities- Manage installation of commercial HVAC equipment within various vertical markets and positively represent the company in all client and architect/engineer interactions.
- Work with end‑users, sales staff, and prime contractors to ensure a clear understanding of project scope and deliverables.
- Oversee and communicate project progression from inception to completion, including design, permits, material delivery, labor schedules, and field installation.
- Develop a comprehensive project plan to meet schedules and budgets, and conduct Work in Progress meetings.
- Develop working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) systems;
Carrier i‑Vu knowledge is a plus. - Understand and follow all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications.
- Convey professionalism, fairness, and concern for customers, labor, and management.
- Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Accurately forecast revenue each month and track costs by reviewing each project to estimate the value of work completed each month correctly.
- Execute all major functions required for project management, including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and close‑out.
- Manage the Change Order process, ensuring scope creep does not occur.
- Ensure that all projects are managed to or exceed the booked project margin percentage.
- Ensure that job safety is a priority on every project.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of project management experience in Commercial HVAC Mechanical Equipment Installation.
- 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience in building automation, electrical installation or construction field.
- Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings and understand complex building architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.
- Experience and/or certification in BACnet or LEED certification.
- PMP certification or working toward PMP.
- Associate’s Degree in engineering or project management.
- Ability to multi‑task and prioritize assignments with strong adherence to deadlines.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for internal and external customers.
The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 and $ annually. Factors that may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other CompensationThis position may be entitled to short‑term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
