Delta is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Manager for our facilities projects.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and self-directed with a background in facilities design for municipal and transportation agencies. The candidate will work directly with the Electrical Department Manager to plan and oversee project design and execution.

Headquartered in downtown Chicago, Delta offers a wide variety of electrical engineering services including facilities design, roadway lighting, fiber optic communications, and Intelligent Transportation Systems. Additionally, Delta operates within many industries such as transportation, rail, aviation, and municipal.

Project Planning & Management Responsibilities
  • Develop new project scoping, man-hours estimation, budgeting, and design criteria
  • Manage select projects and support other PMs when necessary
  • Coordinate with other departments for multi-discipline projects.
  • Supervision of supporting engineers and technicians for the preparation of contract documents
  • Compile milestone deliverables (calculations, drawings, specs, etc) consistent with client standards
  • Organize both physical and digital project documentation
  • Attend site visits and client meetings
  • Conducting business development activities as needed
Engineering Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed electrical design of lighting, power distribution, alarms, and communications, voltage drop calculations, generator and transformer sizing, substation and ground grid design and analysis.
  • Experience with SKM Power Tools
  • Review drawings prepared by others in AutoCAD, REVIT, or Microstation format
  • Participating in QA/QC process of completed work by staff
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, MS preferred
  • Illinois licensed PE
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in the electrical design in a variety of building types: office, commercial, education and industrial.
  • Experience with CADD solutions including Microstation, Auto Cad, and Revit
  • Solid knowledge of electrical trade practices, standards, and building codes
  • Strong communication, teamwork & leadership skills.
  • Experience using SKM for Arc Flash studies is a plus
