Job Overview
Independently performs stormwater and floodplain management assignments for Primera’s Transportation, Buildings, and Utilities divisions. On a task basis, the engineer is responsible for preparation and completion of stormwater engineering designs that meet project needs, including hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, Phase I & II storm water design, storm sewer and detention modeling, floodplain delineations, grading, and erosion and sediment control plans.

Responsibilities- Overall project coordination (internal and external).
- Completing IDOT location drainage studies and hydraulic reports for bridges and culverts.
- Design stormwater management facilities for site development projects and conducting floodplain studies, BMPs and erosion control.
- Obtaining associated local, state, and federal permitting for private and public projects.
- Assisting in preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, supporting documents, and permit applications, and performing field investigations.
- Maintaining project documentation, including calculations, project filing, etc.
- Interfacing with vendors and clients.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering with five years of experience emphasizing stormwater management design and analysis.
- Licensed professional engineer with CFM and/or CPESC – highly preferred or able to obtain in the future.
- Familiarity with agency permitting including City of Chicago, MWRD, DuPage County, IDNR‑OWR, FEMA and USACE, and knowledge of codes and standards (IDOT, Tollway, ACOE, FHWA, etc.).
- Design experience in completing hydrologic and hydraulic calculations for small and large watersheds, Phase I & II storm water design, storm sewer and detention modeling, grading, and erosion and sediment control plans.
- Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as HEC‑HMS, TR‑20, HEC‑RAS and XPSWMM.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Micro Station and/or AutoCAD. Experience with Geopak, Civil3D, or GIS is a plus. Completion of INDOT SWQCP’s is a plus.

Salary: $67,000–$100,000
