Job Description
The Wind Turbine Engineer supports senior technical leads in delivering wind asset advisory and due diligence services across North American and global projects. The role includes executing OEM turbine technology evaluations, authoring and maintaining turbine technology reports, tracking emerging turbine issues and resolutions, supporting site suitability assessments, desktop and field‑based condition assessments, selective wind farm and turbine inspections, root‑cause investigations of turbine failures, reviewing construction job books and completion records, and supporting warranty and technical due diligence activities.
The engineer will gain hands‑on exposure to wind turbine technology, field work, and client‑facing technical analysis.
- Execute OEM turbine technology evaluations (primarily GE and Vestas, but also all major global OEMs), including authoring and maintaining turbine technology reports used globally.
- Track issues and resolutions associated with turbine models as they emerge, develop, and are resolved.
- Support selective field activities, including visits to operating and under‑construction wind farms and turbine inspections.
- Assess the condition of wind farms through desktop review of operating records and site visits.
- Support root‑cause investigations into turbine failures, including gearboxes, collapses, main bearings, etc., and support owners with warranty claims.
- Support the due diligence team reviewing turbine construction job books and completion records.
- Execute wind turbine suitability assessments.
- University Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or Manufacturing Technology from an accredited program.
- 3–7 years of experience working in the wind industry.
- Background in wind turbine technology.
- Ability and willingness to perform turbine climbs.
- Experience with turbine operations, suitability, development, construction, M&A due diligence, owner’s engineering, and/or turbine blade design or operations.
The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 10% of the base salary. Full‑time employees receive paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
