We are seeking a Project Manager to join our Chicago, Illinois team. In this role you will plan, direct, and coordinate activities of a variety of projects executing the services requested by a client across all project phases, including pre‑design, design, procurement, construction, and post‑construction.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Arcadis project team, working collaboratively with the client and project stakeholders.
  • Develop project‑specific preliminary construction phasing, constructability, and work plans.
  • Prepare total project budget and schedule to ensure owner‑client approval.
  • Develop project schedule with milestones and critical path for all team members.
  • Manage design consultants through all design deliverable milestones, including submissions and review by stakeholders.
  • Engage and manage all project consultants/contractors (environmental, geotechnical, survey, material testing, architect, etc.) to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Apply multiple contracting and procurement methods:
    Design‑Bid‑Build, Design‑Build, CM at Risk, Job Order Contracting.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, cost estimates for both hard and soft costs, value engineering, cash flow, vendor invoicing, and pay applications.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules, including master, design, and construction schedules.
  • Assist client in procurement of consultants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Assist client in contract negotiations with project team members.
  • Manage document control processes.
  • Review and evaluate design documents for completeness and constructability.
  • Participate in value engineering efforts.
  • Ensure project is completed in accordance with client goals.
  • Manage change order process.
  • Prepare project progress reports on a regular basis (monthly, weekly, daily).
  • Assist in developing and maintaining cost control processes, including cost projections.
  • Attend and/or chair project site meetings; prepare and issue minutes.
  • Monitor safety and ensure compliance with both Arcadis and client requirements.
  • Advise client on all change orders and review monthly payment requests.
  • Assist in managing FFE procurement, expediting, and installation if required by client.
  • Assist in the project closeout process.
  • Participate in growing the buildings practice in Chicago.
  • Assist in new project pursuits.
  • Mentor and train assistant project managers.
  • Engage in career growth through the training program.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of construction management or project management experience.
  • Experience with web‑based project management tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to learn and use design/project management software such as AutoCAD, BIM, Primavera 6, Procore, and e‑Builder (preferred).

The salary range for this position is $112,000 – $168,000; actual salaries vary based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
