We are seeking an Electrical Group Lead (PE) to provide both technical and people leadership for a high-performing team delivering some of the most advanced industrial facilities in the world. In this role, you will lead and grow a team of 10-20 electrical engineers and designers, while driving technical excellence across semiconductor manufacturing and other complex industrial projects.
What You'll Do
As an Electrical Group Lead, you will operate at the intersection of technical leadership, project delivery, and people management. You'll be responsible for ensuring high-quality design execution while developing and mentoring your team.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10-20 electrical engineers and designers, including performance management, coaching, and career development
* Serve as the Electrical Discipline Lead / Design Manager on major projects, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are achieved
* Provide technical oversight and direction for complex facility electrical systems, including power distribution, grounding, and lighting
* Oversee and review design deliverables, including calculations, specifications, and construction documents
* Drive design quality, consistency, and continuous improvement across projects and teams
* Coordinate resources across projects, balancing workload and supporting business priorities
* Partner with project managers and other disciplines to deliver integrated, high-performing solutions
* Act as a trusted advisor to clients, owners, and contractors, providing leadership throughout design and construction phases
* Lead or contribute to proposals, staffing plans, and project strategy, helping win and successfully execute new work
* Champion best practices, innovation, and digital design tools (e.g., ETAP, BIM) across the team
This role requires a leader who can influence at multiple levels, build strong teams, and deliver excellence in both people leadership and technical execution.
Bring Your Expertise
Here's what you'll need:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
* 12+ years of experience in building electrical systems design
* Professional Engineer (PE) license
* Demonstrated experience leading teams (10+ staff) or managing design groups
* Strong background in industrial or semiconductor facility electrical design
* In-depth knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC), IEEE standards, and applicable codes
* Extensive experience with power system equipment (switch gear, transformers, panel boards, generators, UPS systems, etc.)
* Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage design delivery
* Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
* Ability to work in our Tempe, AZ office
Ideally, You'll Also Have
* Experience in a formal design management or discipline management role
* Demonstrated success in resource management, staffing, and team development
* Working knowledge of Revit/BIM workflows and coordination practices
* Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to drive process improvements and innovation
* Experience with power system modeling software (preferably ETAP)
