Bloom is currently seeking a Transportation/Railroad Engineer with knowledge in transportation and railroad design principles.
Pay Range: $85,000 – $130,000 annually

Responsibilities- Assist, under the direction of Bloom leadership, in all transportation & rail infrastructure design tasks required for each unique project.
- Conducting site visits and general data collection efforts to support the design.
- Providing design for all track design facets of transit and railroad projects.
- Coordinating and leading engineering efforts on rail infrastructure projects ranging from planning and design to construction support and maintenance.
- Establishing and maintaining strong, effective relationships with external clients and market services to transit agencies and local railroads.
- Sustaining the growth of younger engineers by assigning appropriate technical tasks and promoting a culture of growing technical excellence.
- Contributing to design reports. This may include calculation workbooks, alternative analysis, and cost estimating.
- Assisting the design team with bringing all project deliverables to completion. This may include plans, specifications, permits, and design reports.
- Ensuring projects are being completed on time and on budget.
- Interacting and communicating effectively with Bloom leadership, design team members, clients, project owners, and other project stakeholders.
- Attending project meetings and representing the company professionally.
- Participating in Bloom’s mentor/mentee culture.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- 7 to 12 years of experience
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting to complete all assigned project design tasks
- Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills

Illinois Professional Engineer License - Preferred, Not
Required:
Additional software experience is a plus. This may include AutoCAD, Civil3D, GIS, Micro Station, Bluebeam, and/or Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) - Preferred, Not

Participation in professional association is desired (i.e. AREMA, APTA, etc.)
