Engineering Manager

We are placing an Engineering Manager with a leading biologics manufacturer in Chicago, IL. Full-time, permanent position - not contract.

You will own site engineering, facilities, utilities, and maintenance across a cGMP biologics facility - leading a team, managing the full PM/CM programme, and partnering with manufacturing and quality to keep operations running compliantly and efficiently.

• Leading day-to-day engineering, facilities, utilities, and maintenance for the site
• Owning the preventive and corrective maintenance programme including planning, scheduling, and execution
• Managing CMMS, asset hierarchy, work orders, spare parts, and maintenance KPIs
• Overseeing critical utilities - HVAC, compressed air, purified water, chilled water, BMS/EMS
• Driving root cause analysis, failure investigations, and continuous improvement
• Managing calibration programme and supporting qualification and validation activities
• Leading capital and expense projects from scope through commissioning and closeout
• Supervising, coaching, and developing engineering and maintenance staff
• Managing contractors, service providers, budgets, and shutdown planning
• Supporting internal and external GMP audits and inspections

• 3+ years experience in a biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device environment
• 3-5 years supervisory experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of CMMS systems, maintenance planning, and KPI tracking
• Strong technical problem-solving - root cause analysis, risk-based decision making
• Comfortable with cGMP/GxP compliance, change control, and documentation requirements
• BS or MS in Engineering or related field
