Senior Electrical Engineer - Mission Critical

Electrical Design Engineer

Lead the electrical design process for mission-critical projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and client requirements.

Develop power distribution, grounding, UPS, emergency power, and redundancy strategies for data centers and other high-availability environments.

Perform short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies to optimize electrical system reliability and safety.

Collaborate closely with architectural, mechanical, and structural teams to integrate electrical systems into overall project design.

Work with construction teams to ensure seamless execution, providing field support and resolving technical challenges.

Manage client relationships, presenting technical solutions and ensuring alignment with operational goals.

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards and best practices.

Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in the mission-critical industry, incorporating innovative solutions into projects.

BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET institution required.

10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, with at least 3 years focused on mission-critical projects (data centers, high-tech manufacturing, etc.).

PE License is required to seal engineering documents, with the ability to attain licenses in multiple states.

Proficiency in power system design, redundancy planning, and energy efficiency strategies for high-reliability facilities.

Expertise in software tools such as SKM Power
* Tools, ETAP, or Easy Power for power analysis.

Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, and other relevant codes and standards.

Experience working in a design-build or integrated project delivery (IPD) environment is a plus.

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

The salary range for this position considers a wide range of factors in making compensation decisions including but not limited to:
Education, qualifications, skills, training, experience, certifications, internal equity, and location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The Clayco Nationwide salary range for this position is approximately $140,000 - $180,000 +/- annually (not adjusted for location).
