General
Summary:
The Office Engineer is responsible for assisting the Resident Engineer with preparation of all contract documentation and correspondence related to the project and ensures that all contract documents are forwarded to the project Field Inspectors and the Contractor.
Assignment Responsibilities:
The Office Engineer shall be responsible for maintaining all documentation associated with projects during construction and closeout. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Preparing and maintaining the project quantity books, review and audit inspector's daily reports (IDRs), material inspection inquiries and project correspondence
- Prepare and maintain contract change orders
- Coordinate and process contractor's submittals, Requests For Information, and preparation of Field Orders
- Tracking and coordination of material inspection inquiries (RFIMs) and project correspondence
- Preparation of project for pre-bid on through construction closeout
- Distribution and maintenance of the Issued for Construction Drawings and Specifications to team
- Actively participate in all progress meetings, preparation of agendas and meeting minutes
- Post construction, closeout documentation
- Maintains all project files via CM13 and Share Point
- Responsible for maintaining the General Conditions Administration Plan
Experience Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience working on construction projects as either a field engineer or office engineer
Degree /
Certifications:
- Bachelor Science Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent
- IDOT Documentation
- Proficiency in basic computer programs

The hourly pay rate for this position is $42.00 to $51.00. Individual pay is based on factors such as relevant experience, job-related skills, education, and training.
