Manufacturing Engineer
Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods and create work instructions - documentation of processes/activities. Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Lead change management activities and drive implementation of the same. Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Lead and manage continuous improvement projects, as well as mentoring junior engineers. Work with offshore team for Manufacturing Process Simulation. Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools and methodology throughout the manufacturing facility and processes. Drive the standardization of processes and implementation of metrics and best practices. Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Identify and implement new technologies, specification of requirements, Capex justification, planning and implementation. Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Requirements Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in mechanical engineering and five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in manufacturing & assembly environment. Demonstrated process improvement projects and outcomes.
