Position OverviewWe are seeking a high-caliber Environmental Professional with a deep expertise in air quality compliance to join our site operations. Serving as the primary subject matter expert for the facility, you will play a pivotal role on the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Leadership Team. This role reports directly to the EHS Director and is ideal for a strategic thinker who possesses the technical rigor required to manage complex regulatory programs while influencing site-wide environmental strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Regulatory Compliance & Permitting: Lead, manage, and maintain the site's Title V Operating Permit and other complex air quality compliance programs. Ensure total adherence to federal, state (IEPA), and local environmental regulations.
- Emissions Calculations: Oversee and execute meticulous emissions calculations, tracking, and data analysis for routine operations, modifications, and inventory reporting.
- Leadership & Strategy: Act as an active member of the EHS Leadership Team, collaborating to drive site-wide safety and sustainability initiatives, and providing technical guidance to operations teams.
- Agency & Stakeholder Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental regulatory agencies, managing site audits, inspections, and public comment periods.
- Reporting & Documentation: Compile, review, and submit mandatory regulatory reports (including annual emissions inventories, deviation reports, and compliance certifications) with absolute accuracy.
- Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Atmospheric Sciences, or a closely related scientific discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of dedicated professional experience in environmental compliance, with a heavy emphasis on industrial air quality programs.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated, hands-on experience managing Title V permits and executing complex emissions calculations
. - Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable operating procedures for site personnel.
- Leadership Exposure: Direct visibility to executive leadership and a collaborative seat on the site's EHS Leadership Team.
