Position Overview

GEA is seeking a Process Engineer to join our team based out of our brand‑new, state‑of‑the‑art facility located in Janesville, WI. As a Process Engineer, you will support customers by optimizing GEA centrifugal equipment after delivery, support sales development, spearhead R&D efforts for new product development, and much more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and improve processes for assigned GEA Markets, with an emphasis on GEA mechanical separation technology.
  • Startup and commission GEA centrifuge equipment.
  • Support sales initiatives by developing innovative solutions for customers.
  • Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and enhancing quality standards.
  • Prepare and process samples for spin‑down studies and facilitate Design of Experiments for product development.
  • Collect, record, and transcribe data in detailed reports.
  • Maintain testing equipment as required for job responsibilities.
  • Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of the production process (both upstream and downstream of GEA equipment).
  • Train customers on the proper and safe use of GEA equipment.
  • Train other GEA team members on both equipment and processes.
  • Work with Project Engineering to develop cost‑effective and efficient solutions for future projects.
  • Work effectively in an interdisciplinary work environment.
  • Read/interpret P&IDs, General Arrangement (Mechanical Drawings), Electrical Schematics, and other engineering documentation.
  • Work in multiple GEA markets, with an emphasis on the Pharmaceutical and Chemical industries.
  • Familiarity with process controls, motor controls, instrumentation, automation principles, and industrial networking.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures utilized in machine/system control systems.
  • Use Rockwell Programming software to make minor edits to programs, collaborate with Automation Engineers, and support startups.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Report to the Process Engineering Manager.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of industry experience (preferably in the renewable or environmental sectors).
  • Knowledge and experience with Rockwell Programming.
Compensation

The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $85,000 and $115,000 per year. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States. The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary; the final offer is based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, and qualifications.
