Absolute Requirement: Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois.

Minimum Qualification Requirements: Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university majoring in engineering and ten years of engineering experience at the professional level, of which at least five years must have been work related to the District's activities. Five years of this experience must have been in an administrative capacity with responsibility for major engineering projects or plant management, including technical and budgetary accountability.

Substitution: Graduate study in engineering may be substituted for the non‑specialized experience on a year‑for‑year basis to a maximum of two years.

Duties: Performs highly difficult and responsible administrative or complex technical work of an engineering nature. Under general direction, directs and coordinates categorical groupings of functions within the organization, such as design, construction, operations or administration.

Salary/Pay Plans: The salary listed above is Step 1 in a structured pay plan. At 6 months of employment with the District, the salary will increase to Step 2: $. At 18 months, the salary will increase to Step 3: $. There are 9 total steps for TAM 22 of the pay plan. These increases are based on service time in the job classification and require a 'Meets Standard' performance rating.
