Field Engineering Spec III

POSITION OVERVIEW

Analyze operational data/methods, identify performance improvement opportunities and/or implement technology systems that meet business objectives. Provide analysis, reporting tools and support for field operations to effectively control and/or justify operational costs.

• Analyze data obtained through multiple sources including data mining tools and other statistical analysis tools
• Research, analyze, and consolidate technical or engineering related information; present to management for review and recommend solutions
• Develop, evaluate, document and improve operations methods to work area design, process flow and work methods
• Monitor, analyze and recommend ways to improve productivity, service and cost performance in all areas of operations in conjunction with management
• Apply project management fundamentals and concepts for multiple concurrent projects. Develop progress reports, meeting minutes, field communication memos and presentations for management review
• Collaborate with all levels of field leadership to identify trends in performance
• Establish a communication link between operations and corporate departments; provide data and technical expertise relating to facility and equipment planning, layout and cost justification
• Collaborate with all stakeholders to develop and implement corporate projects
• Conduct dock observations and make recommendations on methods to increase productivity and decrease freight damages
• Provide education and support for new technology deployments
• Lead service center and department projects
• Mentor and develop critical skill sets of Field Engineering Specialists
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Transportation or related field or equivalent work experience plus five (5) years professional experience in applied engineering concepts and technology
• Knowledge of equipment and properties resource planning; knowledge of mapping applications
• Experienced with Microsoft Office software and web-based applications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage projects, prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals and respond to day-to-day functional needs
• Ability to anticipate and identify problems and develop effective and efficient solutions

Pay:

Annual Salary: $89,777.00 - $

Compensation listed reflects the pay range or pay rate reasonably expected for this position. Actual pay is determined by job-related factors permitted by law and relevant to the position, such as experience, tenure, market level, pay at the location, performance, schedule, and work assignment.
