The EPC Project Director
- Engineering | Combined Cycle Power Generation is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Chicago Area. This position oversees end-to-end project execution for combined cycle power generation EPC projects, including planning, engineering coordination, budget management, schedule control, and risk mitigation. The role involves directing multidisciplinary engineering teams, aligning project deliverables with client requirements, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
The EPC Project Director collaborates with stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to manage integration between engineering, construction, and commissioning activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing technical documentation, leading project status meetings, resolving issues, and driving continuous improvement across project processes.
We're seeking an EPC Project Director
- Engineering to lead all engineering activities on a utility-scale Combined Cycle Power Generation (CCGT/CCPP) project, from award through commissioning and commercial operation. This role serves as the primary engineering authority - driving technical excellence, schedule adherence, cost optimization, and quality compliance across Power Island, BOP, Electrical, I&C, and Civil/Structural systems. You'll lead design reviews, HAZOPs, risk assessments, and interface management, while acting as the key engineering point of contact for clients, OEMs, and contractors.
- Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, or Power Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 20+ years in power generation engineering
- 10+ years in engineering leadership on EPC projects
- Track record delivering multiple Combined Cycle Power Plants (500 MW-2,500 MW range)
- Strong technical governance, procurement, and construction/commissioning support experience
- Direct hire with full benefits package
