Mechanical Engineer

Greater Chicago Area | On-Site | Full-Time

We are working with a well-established and growing mechanical contractor in the Greater Chicago area looking to add a Mechanical Engineer to its engineering team.

This is a hands-on design-build HVAC engineering position offering exposure to projects from initial design and calculations through construction and completion. The firm works across a diverse project portfolio including healthcare, education, manufacturing, laboratories, high-rise, commercial, and other complex building environments.

This is a strong opportunity for an engineer who enjoys being close to the construction process and wants to work in an environment where engineering, estimating, project management, and field teams collaborate closely.

• Design HVAC and mechanical building systems for design-build projects
• Perform load calculations, equipment selection, sizing, and system layouts
• Develop and review mechanical drawings and construction documents
• Coordinate designs with project managers, field teams, architects, engineers, and other disciplines
• Support projects throughout design and construction
• Assist with equipment specifications and technical documentation
• Participate in project meetings and site visits as required
• Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
• Background within MEP consulting, mechanical contracting, or design-build environments preferred
• Understanding of HVAC equipment, system selection, load calculations, and building systems
• Revit and/or AutoCAD experience preferred
• EIT or PE licensure is a plus
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills

$90,000–$140,000 base salary, depending on experience, technical background, and licensure.
