At PROENERGY, we emphasize a ONE-TEAM approach where our Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Start-Up, Document Controls, and Operations teams work seamlessly for our clients as a solutions provider for the power industry. We are seeking a Mechanical Designer reporting directly to the Director of Design and Technology as we continue to build our in-house EPC engineering and design team. This designer will focus on routing pipe and modeling equipment but also contributing to our department in creating guidelines and procedures.

Pipe codes, piping materials, pipe support types, etc. will all need constant review as our standards and codes change. You will need to work collaboratively with our integrated EPC team along with our clients to execute and provide world class, quality focused deliverables for our construction team. Your ability to adapt and be flexible will be invaluable as you coordinate multiple jobs, develop guidelines and procedures, and provide design oversight to our subsidiaries.

As we lead the transition from reliance on third party engineers to building and managing a fully functional in-house engineering team your discipline expertise and technical knowledge will greatly impact the business planning to add engineering quality standards and developing our own deliverables.

Reports To: Director Design & Technology

• Design and route piping systems, layouts or model 3D equipment items for power plant systems including simple cycle gas balance of plant systems.
• Plan and develop drawings for production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations.
• Understand and develop the capability of quality checking in the 3D models for interferences and constructability optimizations.
• Resolve comments on checked drawings; understand and implement the comments made.
• Complete as-builts by utilizing RFIs, ECNs and red-marked drawings from construction to develop “Conformed to Construction Records” as required.
• Seek ways to improve customer satisfaction, the quality of the work product, and operating efficiencies.
• Help develop, review, and implement guidelines and procedures to ensure design standardization and templating of our PowerFLX work.
