NPD Project Engineer III

G&W Electric Co. seeks an NPD Project Engineer III to lead design and development of new products for power distribution equipment. In this role, you will manage full project lifecycle from requirements and concept through testing, validation, and release to manufacturing. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, quality, and reliability standards are met. Use advanced engineering tools, CAD, and simulation to solve complex technical challenges.

Support continuous improvement, mentor junior engineers, and help drive innovation that enhances grid reliability for global customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle new product development projects for power distribution equipment
• Define requirements and specifications in collaboration with stakeholders and customers
• Develop and review mechanical and/or electrical designs using 3
• D CAD and analysis tools
• Plan and execute testing, validation, and design verification activities
• Ensure designs meet safety, reliability, and industry standards (IEEE/IEC/UL)
• Coordinate with manufacturing to optimize DFM/DFA and support production launch
• Manage project schedules, risks, and deliverables across cross-functional teams
• Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions for product issues
• Document design decisions, calculations, and test results
• Mentor junior engineers and support continuous improvement initiatives
