As a Polymers Chemical Engineering Intern
, you will work closely with our engineering and maintenance teams to support projects and initiatives within MAPEI’s Operations, Maintenance, and Supply Chain functions. You will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while applying engineering principles to real-world projects. This experience may lead to future full-time engineering opportunities within corporate engineering or field operations.
- Perform engineering assignments using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret relevant data and performance metrics.
- Document and maintain technical products and project data.
- Assist with preparing reports, presentations, and other project deliverables.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, operations, and other cross-functional teams.
- Full-time schedule (40 hours per week)
- Internship duration:
May–August 2027 (12 weeks) - Practical, hands-on learning at MAPEI’s West Chicago manufacturing facility
- Host location:
West Chicago, IL
- Hourly Pay rate up to $23.00 commensurate on role and location
- Housing stipends consideration, available in certain situations

- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Chemical
Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related technical field (juniors and seniors preferred) - Initiative, curiosity, and an innovative mindset
- Strong motivation to learn and succeed
- Willingness to travel
