Position Overview:We are hiring an experienced I&C Engineer to lead the design, specification, integration, and testing of advanced instrumentation and control systems for our reactor technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of control logic, instrumentation, and system reliability in highly regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities- Design, specify, and test instrumentation and control systems, including PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems.
- Develop control system architectures, wiring diagrams, and functional specifications.
- Ensure integration of I&C systems with electrical, mechanical, and safety systems.
- Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and risk assessments related to I&C systems.
- Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation activities for new and existing systems.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineering teams to meet regulatory compliance and safety requirements.
- Develop and maintain documentation, procedures, and technical reports related to I&C systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years (or M.Sc. and 8+ years) of experience in I&C system design and implementation, preferably in the nuclear, energy, or aerospace industries.
- Proficiency with PLC programming, control logic development, and instrumentation selection.
- Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards related to I&C systems (e.g., IEEE, ISA, NRC).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity practices for control systems.
- Experience with project and contract management is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or working toward licensure is a plus.
