Work alongside an experienced Transportation and Highway Design Professionals team dedicated to improving roadway and highway infrastructure. As a Roadway and Highway Design intern during the summer of 2027, you will contribute to engineering projects that involve highway and roadway design, traffic analysis, and plan preparation. You will gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering design software, construction documentation, and collaborative project delivery.
LocationThis internship will be based in our Chicago, IL office with opportunities for mentorship from senior engineers and exposure to project sites.
What We Are Looking For- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Strong interest in highway, roadway, or transportation engineering
- Familiarity with design software such as Micro Station and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D (Geopak or 3D Modeling experience a plus, but not required)
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Organizational skills to handle multiple assignments efficiently
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from project sites
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the State of Illinois Pay Transparency Act, Illinois Pay Transparency Law. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on numerous factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary, overtime, and bonuses.
