AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer – Aviation to be based in Chicago, IL
. This role is ideal for a recent graduate interested in launching a career in airport and aviation infrastructure design
, supporting airside and landside projects at commercial and general aviation airports.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of senior aviation engineers and project managers, contributing to the planning, design, and delivery of aviation-related civil engineering projects. Assignments may include runway, taxiway, apron, terminal support infrastructure, and associated utility and drainage systems.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Assist with civil engineering design tasks for aviation infrastructure, including runways, taxiways, aprons, grading, drainage, and utility systems
• Support preparation of engineering calculations, drawings, and technical documentation in accordance with FAA, state, and local standards
• Assist in the development of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for aviation projects
• Perform data collection, analysis, and interpretation using established engineering methods
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, electrical, geotechnical, and environmental disciplines
• Support construction phase services, including review of submittals, RFIs, and participation in site visits as required
• Apply AECOM quality procedures and follow applicable aviation design standards and safety requirements
