Brodie League is more than a basketball league -- it’s a community. As one of North America’s fastest-growing sports brands, Brodie League is redefining adult recreational basketball by delivering an elevated, professional-quality experience rooted in culture, competition, and community. Our mission is to make every league night the best night of the week for our athletes.

Role Overview

Scorekeepers are an essential part of Brodie League’s professional, NBA-level gameday experience. They are responsible for bringing precision and professionalism to every Brodie League game night - managing the scoreboard, shot clock, and live stream to ensure a seamless, fair, and exciting player experience. Their accuracy and focus behind the table directly shape how players and fans experience each game, making the Scorekeeper an essential part of the Brodie standard.

Core

Responsibilities Scorekeeping & Game Management
  • Track the live game score on both the scoreboard and the Baller

    TV live stream
  • Reset the shot clock accurately on all applicable plays (full 24-second and 14-second resets)
  • Record team fouls, timeouts, and the possession arrow throughout each game
  • Track jersey numbers and individual scoring accurately on score sheets
  • Communicate with referees to confirm score accuracy and manage stoppages
  • Manage game clock during the final 2 minutes when the game is within 10 points
  • Ensure all games begin on time and warm-up minimums are met
Baller

  • Set up, operate, and monitor all Baller

TV equipment (iPhone, iPad, tripod, battery pack) for each assigned game
  • Start the live stream at least two minutes before tip-off and keep it running until the final buzzer
  • Update scores live on the iPad throughout gameplay
  • Monitor battery levels, camera framing, and stream status continuously
  • Report any technical issues -- app crashes, stream outages, hardware failures -- to the League Manager immediately
Player Interaction & Atmosphere
  • Physically approach both teams before and after every game -- do not remain seated behind the score table
  • Greet players as they arrive, introduce yourself, and answer questions about schedule, score, or timing
  • Acknowledge both teams at the conclusion of each game and contribute to a welcoming, community-driven environment
  • Maintain a neutral, composed, and professional presence throughout all gameplay
Setup & Teardown
  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled shift to complete score table and equipment setup
  • Set up table cover, scoreboard, shot clock, score sheets, game rules sheet, and court banners before the first game
  • At the end of your shift, return all equipment (Baller

TV devices, score sheets, table covers, pens, banners) to the League Manager
  • Clean your score table area and confirm departure with the League Manager before clocking out
Requirements Must Have
  • Sharp attention to detail and the ability to track multiple game elements simultaneously

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a natural ability to engage with athletes and fans
  • Technologically comfortable - able to operate scoreboard systems, iPads, and the Baller

    TV app confidently
  • Punctual and reliable - your shift starts before the first game and the gym depends on you
  • Availability for evenings and weekends - game nights are non-negotiable
  • Ability to remain off personal devices for the full duration of your shift
  • Must operate as a self-employed individual and be responsible for own tax remittances and applicable sales tax obligations
Nice to Have
  • Prior experience in sports officiating, scorekeeping, event operations, or a live sports environment
  • Familiarity with basketball rules, shot clock regulations, and game flow
  • Experience operating live-streaming platforms or broadcast equipment
