Compensation Rate: IATSE Hourly Rate – $33.44/hour
The Run Crew Technician is responsible for the daily operation, reset, maintenance, troubleshooting, and live execution of an immersive theatrical experience. This role supports all technical and operational elements of the production, including Show Control & VR systems (no prior experience required), audio, lighting, scenic, backstage operations, guest experience support, and show reset procedures. Crew members work collaboratively to ensure all show systems function safely, efficiently, and consistently while maintaining production standards throughout performances.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Perform daily startup and maintenance procedures for audio, lighting, VR, projection, and show control systems.
- Conduct full room walkthroughs to verify scenic, lighting, sound, and interactive elements are operational.
- Set and reset scenic elements, props, furniture, and guest interaction materials.
- Inspect and prepare show‑specific devices including Perfect Cue systems, iPads, radios, doll props, foggers, hazers, and scent dispensers.
- Prepare consumables items including lemons, berries, coffee service, water stations, and guest materials.
- Verify all Medialon, QLab, lighting console, and control systems are online and functioning properly.
- Execute assigned show track during performances including VR operations, backstage operations, and audience flow.
- Operate cueing systems including Perfect Cue remotes, lighting cues, sound playback, and automation triggers.
- Support audience members with VR equipment and accessibility accommodation as needed.
- Communicate with Stage Management and other departments regarding timing, technical concerns, and operational status.
- Cover crew tracks and operational positions during scheduled breaks.
- Troubleshoot audio, lighting, networking, VR, automation, and control systems during rehearsals and performances.
- Diagnose issues related to sensors, Ethernet networking, Raspberry Pi devices, Waveshare Modbus RTU relays, and Perfect Cue systems.
- Maintain logs of maintenance activities, troubleshooting procedures, and equipment repairs.
- Monitor and refill fog, haze, scent, and other show‑effect systems.
- Assist with inventory tracking and ordering of technical and consumable supplies.
- Execute nightly shutdown procedures for all technical systems including VR, audio, lighting, and automation equipment.
- Secure backstage and technical areas at close of day.
- Experience in live entertainment, immersive theater, themed entertainment, events, or technical production preferred.
- Basic understanding of audio, lighting, networking, video, and show control systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical systems quickly under live show conditions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift, move, and set technical or scenic equipment as needed.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
